Director, PMO

    Job Summary:

    This position has overall responsibility within the GSC Information Technology team to improve IT's focus on project management disciplines, financial tracking, budgeting, invoice management, status reporting, the IT development methodology and IT compliance to industry and internal regulations. This position will be expected to insure that the adoption of IT methodologies and compliance has taken place. This position directs both tactical and strategic systems initiatives to support the information technology requirements of the organization. This position will provide thought leadership for strategic planning, organizational development for the staff and resources within the team, and financial leadership regarding budgetary responsibility. This position will uphold compliance to the policies and standards for the organization. This position will manage customer relationships, and act as a trusted technology advisor to the business. This position will serve as liaison to the executive management team.

    Position Scope:

    • This position will report to the CIO and will continue to develop/enhance new IT capabilities.
    • This position will provide leadership to the project managers within IT, developing a training curriculum and budget for formalizing project manager training.
    • This position will help to assemble and compile the IT budgets during budget season, and will payments and financial history for IT billing throughout the year.
    • This position will assume responsibility for status reporting and program management for the IT portfolio of projects, and participate in the development of IT strategic planning sessions.
    • This position will be responsible to maintain the IT methodology and to manage IT's compliance to the methodology and to industry regulations.
    • This position will uphold compliance to the policies and standards for the organization.
    • This position will be a member of the IT Steering Committee and will be expected to provide insight and thought leadership on IT Strategies.
    • This position will be responsible to manage a team of 2 to 25 technology professionals and administrative staff, in both traditional and matrix organizations.
    • This position will manage the IT portfolio for progress, and status reporting.
    • This position will oversee, along with the CIO, the budget for IT, managing and reporting on exceptions.
    • This position will be responsible to oversee the invoice management for all of IT.

    Essential Functions of the Job: (% of Time)

    • Provides technical and administrative guidance to a team of technology professionals engaged in project and guidance on solutions to business problems and challenges. (20%)
    • Oversees the IT portfolio, monitoring projects and progress. (10%)
    • Develops and oversees the training, development and adoption of a project management discipline within IT. (15%)
    • Manages, attracts and retains talent within the team, providing day to day direction, feedback, developmental guidance, performance appraisals, controlling departmental budget as required
    • Participate in tactical and strategic planning as required
    • Work with other team members and business partners to prioritize, schedule, communicate and launch projects
    • Comply with GSC policies and procedures, including the IT Methodology, guidelines for Internal Compliance, Payment Card Industry standards and other applicable policies guiding leadership, ethics and technical conduct
    • Work to improve IT departmental efficiency

  • Concisely and effectively communicate Business or Computer Sciences or related education. Will consider significant relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: 7+ years in IT Management / Business Process Development
  • Certifications / Other: PMP, MS Office, PPM Tool Usage

    Job Requirements (Preferred):

    • Education: Masters in Business or Computer Sciences
    • Experience: 10+ years in large scale consulting discipline, Wholesale / Retail IT
    • Certifications / Other: PPM Tool Deployment
